Mondrian Cake

I finally tried the Mondrian cake at the SF MOMA! It went perfectly with my black Blue Bottle coffee. Now that it's 8 am and I'm freezing at school, I wish I could go back to that moment. Sigh...

I could go on with more ladies but it's late and the Giants game is almost over. If you have not heard of any of these artists, I recommend checking out Yolanda Lopez and Betye Saar first! Then...Judith Leyster because I have a soft spot for Dutch art right now ;)

Happy Things!

Things that have been making me extra happy this week:

This power salad. I have been leaving out the chicken, adding quinoa and replacing the feta cheese with goat cheese. So tasty and keeps me full until dinner time.

I follow This-Wild Heart on instagram and her coffee photos send me over the moon. If only I had the time to sit down and enjoy my coffee like her everyday.

 This-Wild Heart

Andy and I have been doing tons of research for our Amsterdam. Summer can come soon enough!

This has been a sweet breakfast this week

Spring Break?

As usual, he weather in San Francisco has been unpredictable, but mostly cold and windy. I was hoping I would be able to enjoy at least one sunny day during my spring break, but that hasn't happened. So far, this has been the most uneventful spring break ever. I am getting some much needed rest, though. After two weeks of studyin my brain out, I really needed a break from school.

Yesterday I hiked up to Sutra Tower for the first time ever! I have lived in the city for almost five years and have yet to see the tower. It took a little convincing from my boyfriend and his dad, but we hiked up steep downtown hills and climbed up the stairs to get to the top. To my surprise, there were beautiful bright green parrots in the trees! Also....I never knew there were WPA murals inside the tower. They were awesome!

Monday night was fun too. Went to happy hour with the gal pals, and saw Buffalo Tooth at Brick & Mortar.

Lily Martine Baxter

I found out about this artist through the Serena & Lily website. The gallery I work for is partners with S&L and we see some of our pieces through them online. After browsing through the other art on S&L, I came across Lily Martine's work. Her bloom paintings caught my eyes right away. I love the colors, the organic feel and the dipping effect. I couldn't find much information about her but I think she's from San Francisco and has had some shows recently in Oakland. Ugh, sooo beautiful!
